Your Kitchen Design Guide
Renovating is a daunting process, and choosing a kitchen can feel like a huge commitment. The way in which kitchens are utilised in our homes has changed drastically over the decades, and no more so than since lockdown. We spend more time in our homes than ever before and our kitchens have become multifunctional spaces used not only for the traditional purposes of cooking and cleaning, but also for socialising, working, homework, and sometimes as spaces to simply relax in with a cup of tea and a book. Kitchen design needs to start with how you, as the client, use or would like to use your space and what works for your family and your lifestyle.
We have put together a guide to help get you started on designing your dream kitchen. Remember, the kitchen is the heart of your home so this should be a fun and exciting part of your renovation. Eventually, this space will be where a lot of beautiful memories are made.
Custom Kitchen Design
Step one: Make your list
Map out the things you are missing in the kitchen you currently have. Would you like more storage? Is your stove tucked away and isolated? Do you feel confined? Does it feel dark?
Then, think about the things you would love, the things on your wishlist. This could be anything from a specific colour paint you have seen to wanting your dishwasher out of sight. These will guide us when we create zoned spaces within your bespoke kitchen design.
Step two: Get inspired
Look on our instagram for examples of kitchens that you love. Scroll through Pinterest and page through some magazines for details that catch your eye. We love it when our clients bring their own creative flair so don’t be afraid to bring your ideas to the table.
Step three: Choose your design package
Option A is a free cost estimate and provides an idea of what your kitchen could cost based on the information you provide us.
Option B is an exact quote with the added benefit of a 2D design and layout. This will give you a better idea of how we envision how your space could be transformed.
Option C is an exact quote, 2D layout and 3D photorealistic render of the space so that you can really imagine what your new kitchen will look like.
Remember, the cost of your design package is credited from your final invoice so no money is wasted on this process.
Step four: Approve your design
One of our designers will get in touch with you within 48 hours with an initial design and quote. Your designs will be presented in person so that you have the opportunity to chat through any ideas or concerns with your designer directly.
Step five: Book installation
Once you have approved your design and accepted your quote it’s our turn to take over. We will manufacture your kitchen within our 8-10 week lead time and then our skilled teams of installers will be on-site to deliver and install your kitchen cabinetry. We will manage every step of the process alongside you and your building team.
